Questions about Stimmi? Here are answers to the most common ones — and at the bottom, how to reach us directly.

Frequently asked questions

Stimmi doesn't show a note

First check that Stimmi is allowed to use the microphone: your device's Settings → Stimmi → Microphone. Stimmi also deliberately ignores very quiet sounds so that background noise doesn't show up as notes — just play or sing a little louder and closer to the device.

The displayed note jumps around or seems wrong

Background noise (TV, conversations, other instruments) can disturb detection — practicing in a quiet room works best. If notes are consistently slightly off, check the concert pitch in the app's settings: the default is 440 Hz, with 442 and 443 Hz available for orchestra or ensemble rehearsals.

Which instruments is Stimmi made for?

For children and beginners — with recorder, violin, piano or their own voice. Stimmi listens from low children's voices up to the high notes of recorder and violin.

The note names look unfamiliar

By default Stimmi shows note names in the notation common in German-speaking countries (g¹, h¹). You can switch to international names (G4, B4) in the app's settings.

Does Stimmi need the internet?

No — all features run offline on the device. On launch the app only briefly checks whether app updates are available. You can find the details in the privacy policy.
